Replacement Windows in CT & RI

Old windows cost you money every month of the year — heat out in January, cool air out in July, and drafts you've stopped noticing because you're used to them.

When to Replace

Signs Your Windows Are Finished

  • Drafts you can feel standing near a closed window
  • Condensation or fog between the panes, meaning the seal has failed and the insulating gas is gone
  • Windows that stick, won't stay open, or won't lock
  • Rot in wood sashes or sills
  • Rising heating bills with no other explanation
  • Rooms that never feel comfortable no matter what the thermostat says
  • Single-pane glass, common in older New England homes and poor by any modern standard

Other Services

Roofing rarely travels alone. If more than one thing needs doing, ask us to price them together — shared setup and disposal brings the cost down.

Installation

Done Right, Not Just Done

A good window installed badly still leaks. Most of the real energy performance comes from the installation, not the unit.

Accurate Measurement

Every opening measured individually. Houses settle, and openings that look identical rarely are.

Careful Removal

Old units out without damaging interior trim or exterior siding.

Opening Inspection

Rot around a window is common and only visible once the old unit is out. We show you what we find.

Proper Insulation & Sealing

Low-expansion foam in the rough opening, flashing and sealing on the exterior. This step is where the performance comes from.

Clean Finish

Interior and exterior trim finished properly, site cleaned at the end of each day.

Products

Pella and ProVia

Both are quality lines with strong warranty coverage, in double-hung, casement, slider, bay, bow, picture, and specialty shapes.

We'll go over frame material, glass package, grille patterns, and color at the estimate, and give you a straight comparison of what each option costs versus what it delivers. Not every home needs the top glass package, and we'll tell you when it isn't worth the upcharge.

We couldn't be happier with Christopher Home Improvement. Raul and his team replaced our roof, installed new gutters, and the results are amazing. Everything was completed on schedule with no time wasted.

★★★★★

Christopher Home Improvement did a wonderful job on my roof and gutters. No more rain overflowing down the house. These guys were great — very fast and professional, with no mess left behind. The new roof looks great! They did my mother's house as well. She told me not to go with anyone else, and she was right.

Raul and his team have gone above and beyond my expectations, even replacing my gutters along with my roof. I'm impressed with the professionalism and hard work by all the crew. They arrived on time and cleaned up like they weren't even there.

Questions

Common Questions

How long does it take to replace windows?

Most installers complete several windows per day. A typical whole-house project runs one to three days depending on count and complexity.

Do I have to do the whole house at once?

No. Many homeowners start with the coldest or most damaged side and phase the rest.

Will there be a mess inside?

We protect floors and furnishings and clean up at the end of each day. There's some dust with any window removal, but it's manageable.

Is it worth replacing windows that still work?

If they're single-pane or the seals have failed, generally yes on comfort and energy alone. If they're sound double-pane units under 20 years old, probably not — and we'll say so.

Are there rebates or tax credits available?

Federal energy efficiency credits and Connecticut and Rhode Island utility rebate programs change year to year. Check current program terms before assuming eligibility, and we can point you to what's active when we come out.
